Deep Pot Nonstick, Cast Iron or Stainless Steel works best.
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 4 cups mini marshmallows 1 10oz bag
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup white candy melts or white chocolate chips
- 1/4 Cup Dried cranberries for decoration
Melt the butter in a large pot over medium low heat.
Add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Stir constantly to prevent it from burning
Pour in the puffed rice cereal and stir until evenly coated
Dump the marshmallow cereal mixture on to a piece of large parchment paper. Use a second piece of parchment paper to press down the cereal to about a 1/2 inch to 1 inch thickness (depending on your preference).
Let it cool for 5-10 minutes and then use a Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut out tree shapes.
Decorate the Trees
Melt the white chocolate melts in a microwave safe bowl, per the instructions on the package.
Add the melted chocolate to a piping bag and drizzle the melted chocolate over the trees.
While the chocolate is still wet, add the cranberries
Let the chocolate harden and serve!
Tips:
- If you don't have a piping bag, use a sandwich bag. Add the melted chocolate to the corner of the bag and cut the very tip.
Make it your own:
- Make Green Trees: Add green food coloring into the melted marshmallows for green trees.
- Switch Up the Decorations: Use mini M&Ms, gumdrops, or star-shaped sprinkles for a colorful twist.
- Flavor Boost: Add a pinch of cinnamon or peppermint extract to the marshmallow mixture for a holiday flavor.
- Chill to Set: Pop the decorated trees in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to help the candy melts harden faster.
