Marshmallow Peppermint Hot Chocolate

When the weather outside gets chilly, there’s nothing quite like a steaming mug of hot chocolate to warm your heart and lift your spirits. But why settle for ordinary when you can make it extraordinary? Introducing Peppermint Hot Chocolate made with cocoa powder, maple syrup, and fluffy marshmallows!

Equipment

  • 1 small saucepan
  • 1 Whisk or spoon

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups milk or any plant-based milk like almond or oat
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract or to taste
  • Mini marshmallows

Instructions
 

  • Add the milk to a small saucepan and heat over medium heat. Stir constantly so it doesn't scald.
  • Once warm (do not let it boil) add the cocoa powder and maple syrup. Stir until fully incorporated
  • Once incorporated, remove from the heat and whisk in the peppermint extract
  • Pour into a mug and top generously with mini marshmallows. Add any additional toppings and enjoy!
